                Lynx Scouts

Being a Scout is all about building confidence, outdoor skills and having a sense of adventure. Exploring beliefs, creativity and attitudes are all encouraged, this all happens in a safe secure place, run by experienced trained Scout Leaders who are helped by Young Scout Leaders.

The 1st Gillingham has one Scout Troop, they are the third section up from Beavers and Cubs, it is open to all boys and girls aged between 10 1/2 and 14 years old. There is some flexibility in the age range. As part of a Scout Troop, children and young people can enjoy a varied range of activities, such as traditional Scouting activities like camping, cooking and survival, as well as more adventurous undertakings like abseiling, zorbing and rock climbing. As with all the sections of Scouting the key focus is on participation and trying your best, rather than achieving set goals.

  • Lynx Scout Troop meets on Monday evenings: 6:30pm to 8:30pm

Both Scout Troops are run by a team of trained and vetted Scout Leaders and supported by Young Scout Leaders, they meet every week during term time.

If you think your child or young person might be interested in becoming a Scout in Gillingham, just get in touch to find out more about what we have to offer.
